Rick Sharma
Rick Sharma joined Bridgewater in 2012 and is a Partner of the firm. As Chief Legal Advisor, he is responsible for our investment management legal practice and partners with internal stakeholders on key legal, regulatory, governance and risk management initiatives. He is also a member of the firm’s Commercial and Business Strategy Committee. Rick is an industry veteran who previously served on the Management Committee of Plural Investments, LLC, and as the Director of Legal and Compliance at Drake Management, LLC. Prior to that, he was an attorney at the law firm of Stroock & Stroock & Lavan LLP, a Special Assistant US Attorney for the US Department of Justice and a member of the US Army’s Judge Advocate General (JAG) Corps.
Rick graduated from The Johns Hopkins University in 1995 with degrees in Economics and Political Science and from the Fordham University School of Law in 1998. He is a former Army officer and paratrooper and during his military service was awarded the Meritorious Service Medal and the NY State Conspicuous Service Cross, among other recognitions. He currently serves in committee leadership roles at the Managed Funds Association. He is admitted to practice law in New York, California, Massachusetts, and as Authorized In-House Counsel in Connecticut.
