Alan joined Bridgewater in 2011 and is currently Chief Diversity Officer. He is also a Partner and a member of the firm’s Operating Committee. Prior to this, Alan was Co-Head of the Americas Region and served as the senior advisor to the CEO and the Diversity and Inclusion leadership team. Most of Alan’s 25 years in the financial services industry has been dedicated to leading investment advisory teams serving institutions, family offices, and ultra-high net worth individuals in the US and Latin America. Prior to joining Bridgewater, he was Managing Director and Head of Investment Services at UBS Wealth Management Americas and, before that, Managing Director and Head of Client Solutions at the Citibank Private Bank. Alan's career spans 35 years and includes leadership roles in politics and non-profit management.

Alan is a Lifetime Member of the Council on Foreign Relations. His volunteer work focuses on the communities and organizations that have impacted his life. He is Chairman of the Board for the Black Hedge Fund Professionals Network. He is also a former Governing Board Member for the Robert Toigo Foundation, served on the Boards of the New York Urban League and the University of Pennsylvania, and as Vice Chairman of the Greater Miami Chamber of Commerce Task Force on Ethics. In 2020, he was recognized as one of the top 100 "EMPower Ethnic Minority Executive Role Models." Alan received his BS in Economics from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania and his M.Phil. in Politics from Oxford University.
