Natalie Rodden and Sage Baron Selected to Join 2024 Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS) AILA International Fellowship

Bridgewater’s Natalie Rodden (left) and Sage Baron (right) were selected as 2024 participants in the Center for Strategic and International Studies’ (CSIS) Abshire-Inamori Leadership Academy (AILA) International Fellowship. This week-long leadership intensive provides training opportunities in leadership, ethics, and foreign policy; fosters growth and collaboration amongst a diverse selection of individuals; and empowers participants to make positive contributions to their communities.

Natalie has specialized in operational management at scale across a wide breadth of functional business requirements including financial planning, talent operations, risk and continuity management, and supply chain strategy for most of her career. She joined Bridgewater 10 years ago, and in her current role as Chief Administrative Officer for the Client Service business, she leads teams through transformational changes, industry-specific evolutions, and bilateral risk. Energized following her fellowship experience, Natalie shared her appreciation for the “time to step back on my life and goals, how I work, what others around the world are facing, and what tools I can use to better center myself and those around me in our own respective strengths and expertise.”

Sage began her career at Bridgewater in 2006 and is currently responsible for building Bridgewater’s Total Portfolio Strategies (TPS) Department in her capacity as Management Deputy Head of TPS. Sage has held a variety of high impact roles during her Bridgewater tenure, including building Bridgewater’s business in onshore China – Bridgewater China Investment Management Co., serving as Chief of Staff to a Management Committee Member, and Chief Operating Officer of Bridgewater’s Investment Engine. Asked about the impact of the Fellowship experience, Sage described it as “truly transformational, personally and professionally” with an organization aligned to Bridgewater’s rigor and goals.

The fall 2024 class of the CSIS AILA Fellowship brought together 26 aspiring leaders from more than 15 countries to discuss topics central to effective leadership and to be part of a deep and diverse community of leaders focused on intellectual, ethical, cultural, and policy issues. Asked to describe Bridgewater’s participants, Joanna Alpert, Head of Total Portfolio Strategies, said, “Sage Baron and Natalie Rodden represent the next generation of leaders, both here at Bridgewater and globally. They approach their work with humility, dedication, and a forward-thinking orientation which is essential to achieving our mission.”
