While a month is too short to honor the expansive and growing history of African Americans, Bridgewater Black Network (BBN) endeavors to use the power of voice to explore what's different and the same, new and shared, about that history both within and outside of Bridgewater. In 2019, The BBN hosted Former Massachusetts Governor Deval Patrick for a talk as part of a series celebrating the courageous voices of African Americans in politics, business, art and literature. During that discussion, our CEO David McCormick, engaged with him in a rich conversation on the principles that have helped shape his career, his perspective, and journey. Two things that came through to us from Mr. Patrick was his incredible humility — his belief that there is always something to learn — and his ability to persevere.
