For more information on the award criteria, please see the linked full report. Financial Times Innovative Lawyers Awards considered innovations from January 1, 2023, through October 2024, with submissions entered by July 2024. Please review Important Disclosures and Other Information and Risks Associates with Use of AI Tools.
For the North America awards each year, submission guidelines are published in May, the deadline for submission is in July, shortlists are announced in October, and the awards event is held in December in New York with the final report published in December in print and online. The research process runs from July to October. To select the award recipients, the FT reviews case studies that are submitted for consideration, analyzes industry trends, and conducts interviews and background investigations. They have 5 key metric categories for criteria: innovation, people management, social responsibility, digital maturity, and financial growth. Each entry is scored out of 10 points for originality, leadership and impact, for a maximum score of 30. They are then benchmarked against each other to arrive at the final rankings and shortlists. Each year’s report rankings assess innovations from January 1 of the previous year and onwards. For example, the 2024 ranking assessed innovations instituted from January 1, 2023 onwards.
Making a submission is free, so there was no compensation paid by Bridgewater for consideration.
